Currently the City of Albuquerque offers a rebate to residents and businesses encouraging water conservation. We were able to take advantage of this rebate to convert two of the four yards. One of the stipulations for qualifying, is that you must be converting a high water landscape to a low water landscape. We had already converted two of our yards before we had knowledge of this rebate. It pays ~ $1.00 per square foot converted. The city of Albuquerque has done very well with water conservation, surpasing goals set by the City. Since the early 90's, we have reduced our use from 250 gal/person/day to 150 gal/person/day!
